Palo Santo smudging sticks
Palo Santo is Spanish for Holy Wood, and is one of nature’s awesome tools for purifying and cleansing your space.
Palo Santo is a sacred tree grown in South America and is a natural mosquito/insect repellant. Ours are ethically sourced from Peru. Our Palo Santo woods are harvested after the trees lying dead between 4-5 years on the forest floor. It’s through the process of this natural death, followed by years on the forest floor that it releases the amazing oil giving out its great aroma.
Palo Santo works well for smudging or clearing a room of negative/stagnant energy, or simply for refreshing a room in your home. The smell is woodsy, so fresh and beautiful with a hint of citrus. It can also be used for cleansing your crystals especially for those that can't go through water cleansing.
How to smudge/cleanse using Palo Santo:
Light a Palo Santo stick and hold at a 45 degree angle pointing the tip down towards the flame. Allow it to burn for 30 seconds and then blow it out so only smoke is produced.
Move about your workspace, home, or anywhere you would like to clear the energy.
When finished, place it on a fireproof dish in a way that will allow it to continue burning and gently blow on the embers when needed. This is called smudging.
It may need to be re-lit several times so it will continue to release its essential oils and energetic properties.
Safety: Never leave burning palo santo unattended. Make sure to put your palo santo stick/sage bundle out completely after every use. Once you're ready to extinguish a sage smudge stick, press the burning tip firmly into your ceramic dish. Always leave a window open while smudging.
