Have you ever shop at these stores such as the one at Crafters Market located at Orchard Gateway?
Running an online store at ILOVEMASONJAR has led to numerous enquiries from organisers to take part. We have taken part in a few in the past - RELC and American International School's Christmas Fair are what comes to our mind.
These are the factors we use when deciding if we want to take part.
1. Rental - can we cover the cost of renting the kiosk / booth space? Some places are FREE while others may need you to pay anything from $50 to $300 a day.
2. Traffic - Heavy or Light. For example, Crafters Market at Orchard Gateway has many people walking past as it is held on level 1 and next to Somerset MRT Entrance. Plus the crowd are generally below 35 years old.
3. Type of people - Are they your target customers? If you are targeting students and teenagers, maybe it is better to pick where they love to hang out (such as cinemas, game arcades etc.) Are your products meant for ladies or guys? These are key considerations, and as you put yourself in the shoes as customers. Will you be happy to buy stuffs there?
4. Minimum Commitment Period - Some venues are meant for a few hours and others may require several days or over a few weekends. Our commitment at RELC and American International School's Christmas Fair was for a few hours. We had some that require us to operate several weekends - Marina Bay area etc.
And these days I have seen new Pop Up Store collecting digital payment through PayLah / PayNow / Grab Pay beside Cash.
If you are new to business, shop around at a few of these pop up stores / bazaars, observe the crowd before jumping in.
If you do get started, enjoy the process. You may even make friends with your neighbors at the fair. I saw a big variety of stuffs being sold at our events, people selling books, toys, candles, hand-made crafts, t-shirts, bags etc.
Meanwhile, we still enjoy hearing from you if you have suggestions on where we can display our items from ILOVEMASONJAR.
