After observing the different reasons why our customers buy from us on ILOVEMASONJAR, we decide to narrow down to 3 big benefits of shopping online.

Easy Comparison

Gone are the days we can walk in the mall and compare across different gift retail shops. These days, the salaries and high rental deter many entrepreneurs from starting their own shops. It is safer to find a job and enjoy the stress free alternative of paying for these high overheads while waiting for customers to come and shop. Thus, it is difficult to have many shops in the same physical mall selling the type of item we are looking for.

With online shopping, we can always "Google" and compare the items / prices. And make a decision based on that. Sometimes we look at reviews. On Qoo10 shopping platform, I look at the number of reviews and what they write. The higher the reviews, the more reputable I feel the seller is. 

No Crowd / Pressure

With a website, people can shop 24/7. We noticed some of our customers purchase items on our website at ilovemasonjar.com after 12 midnight. And others make their shopping during office hours. It is all down to the convenience and needs of the individuals when they buy.

We noticed that online purchase that happens after midnight tend to be on mobile phones. During office hours, they use computers more often than mobile phones to browse on our website.

Without the sales person breathing down our neck, it feels so much more relaxing to make the purchasing decision.

Just before the supermarkets are closing for the day, we got some healthy and happy snacks and drinks to last us for the next 1 to 2 days.

​Today is last day of the Pig Lunar New Year.  So do enjoy the Reunion Meal with your loved ones!

It got us thinking about what we can share today as we close our business at ILOVEMASONJAR to enjoy some time with family members and loved ones. We re-open on the 29th Jan 2020.

Why do so many kids love going to the same place that starts with the letter "M"?

Kids ask to have their birthday parties in there and invite their friends over to celebrate with them over these Happy Meals, and they get to play games and balloons together. If they are lucky, they may get to see the iconic Ronald McDonald too.

What is so special there?

So we took pictures of the Happy Meal set we bought and you can see how colourful the box is being designed.

Some kids may even love the surprise inside the box. It comes with a Toy or a Book, well at least these are the options in Singapore.

It is the season for Pokemon now. We got this the same day as we write this blog (20 Jan 2020). I can still remember our own childhood days close to 20 years ago and we were playing with Pokemon Cards. 

Do you think kids love it because of the toy or the food?

Fries / corn, cheeseburger or chicken nuggets, Coke / Milk / Milo etc. Yes, it is not too healthy, but still the kids love it. Especially with TV ads showing grandparents bringing their grandchildren there for bonding and eating together. 

Even adults enjoy being at McDonald's as they offer air-con, free wifi, fast and cheap options. The Happy Meal is inexpensive in Singapore. The one we show here is priced at $4.90.

It got us at ILOVEMASONJAR thinking about what makes our customers happy too as we look at the Happy Meal at McDonald's.

We have been asking ourselves how we can make it even better since the start of 2020. 

At ILOVEMASONJAR, we are grateful for all the support we receive from our customers and loved ones in 2019. November and December 2019 were super busy for us and we are surprised by the number of orders we receive daily. Thank you!

Thus, in Jan 2020, we decide to give ourselves a nice break in between work as we contemplate how we can do things better.

1. Work with Others 
We are looking at other partners in related products that our customers may like, for example, crystal products or new form of glassware & Mason Jars? In addition, w are looking at new directions in the form of partnership with event organizers and we can help event organizers to supply gifts for selected events.

2. Donate
Sometimes, trends change faster than we can expect. We would love to donate some of our old stocks to charity. Do talk to us if you have something in mind. Mason Jars / Mugs come to our mind on this topic.

3. Trying something NEW
Tech changes faster than we know it. Ten years ago, we will probably be shopping at the mall at gift shops for something that our loved ones may like. And we started selling on Carousell over 5 years ago. Sales picked up over the years as more become familiar with online shopping. New opportunities come daily. For ourselves, we may go and attend some new courses - pertaining to Digital Marketing, Art n Craft and Sports.

New ideas come when we are relaxed and often unexpected. If there is something you want to do in 2020, get started and keep going. Have Fun!
